To register to play cash, you must be a Canadian

There are four ways you can register to play cash:

  • If you are a HPIbet customer, simply enter your HPIbet credentials in the Dark Horse app and we’ll automatically register your account
  • Scan the front and back of your driver’s license in the Dark Horse app
  • Register manually by entering in your first name, last name, date of birth and address in the Dark Horse app
  • Download the application from on playdarkhorse.com, complete it and send it, along with scanned copies of your government-issued photo ID confirming your age and current address to help@playdarkhorse.com
Why am I failing registration?

To meet regulatory requirements, we are required to ask for personal information.

Our online application uses an identity verification process provided by Canadian Credit Bureaus. This process compares the information you provide to information in your credit report in order to validate your identity and no other. This process will not impact your credit rating or credit file in any way.

Should the information you provide not be verified online, please be assured that this is not a reflection of your credit rating but may simply be due to the fact that your consumer report file is incomplete or out of date. If our identify verification process is unable to verify your provided information then you are welcome to print your completed application and submit it via email. All information submitted via this application is fully encrypted and secure.

How is my Dark Horse account protected?

Your Dark Horse account is protected by a unique email, password, pin number. We take the security of your personal information very seriously and will do our utmost to protect your account.

What do I do if I forgot my login/password

Users can contact the Support Center at 416-675-3000, if you’re in the GTA, or call us Toll Free at 1-833-675-3275 (DARK).

Our agents will help you retrieve your username. Once you have your username, simply tap ‘I can’t remember my password’ on the login screen to recover your password.

How do I change my password?

When you’re logged into the Dark Horse app on your device, you can change your password by going into the hamburger menu (top left) and tapping ‘Account’.

From there, hit ‘Account Info’ and then ‘Change Password’. If are logged out of the app and don’t remember your password, tap ‘I can’t remember my password’ on the login screen to recover it.

How do I change my username?

Your username is the email address you signed up with. Contact our Support Center at 416-675-3000, if you’re in the GTA, or call us Toll Free at 1-833-675-3275 (DARK) to change it any time you like.

How do I update my personal details?

You can update your home address right in the app. Simply open the hamburger menu (top left) and tap ‘Account’. From there, tap ‘Account Info’ and then ‘Update Home Address’. If you want to add or update your phone number, contact our Support Center at 416-675-3000, if you’re in the GTA, or call us Toll Free at 1-833-675-3275 (DARK).

Will other users see my username?

No. Your username is not displayed in the app. However, your avatar name may be visible to other users in some views like leaderboards, etc.

Can I use my Dark Horse account outside of Ontario? (or Canada?)

Yes. You have full access to your account when you’re outside of Canada.

How do I set up a deposit limit?

You can set up a weekly deposit limit either directly in the app, or by calling our support centre.

In the app: First, open the hamburger menu (top left). Then, tap ‘Funding and Withdrawals’ -> Add Funds -> Set Deposit Limit. Once you set your deposit limit, it will take 24 hours to take effect.

How do I redeem boosters?

Boosters are free money that you can add to your bet – without spending any extra! You can redeem them by applying them to your selected strategies during any race.

Can I edit or cancel my bet?

Yes. You can edit your bet right up until the moment you place it.

What happens if a race ends in a dead heat?

In the event of a dead heat, all bets will be paid out based on these results.

If you want to take a bit of a break from playing Dark Horse, you can simply delete the app from your phone.

How long does it take to get my withdrawal?

There are two ways to withdraw funds from your account: an eGift card, or Electronic Fuds Transfer (EFT).

  • You can get an eGift card URL immediately, redeemable at select partner sites
  • Typically, with an EFT, it takes 3 to 5 business days for your withdrawal to be credited to your bank account. Similarly, if you want to refund a deposit made via your credit card, it normally takes 3 to 5 business days for the amount to be credited back to your Visa/ MC.
Are there fees to withdraw funds?

No. There are no fees to withdraw your funds. The minimum withdrawal amount is $10.

Does Dark Horse keep a history of my transactions and bets?

Yes. Dark Horse displays your last 60 days of transactions and bets on the app.
